Assessment2

Well when I was making my blog I tried to consider what it was that drew people to other metablogs on the web. Things that i thought were important were:
*reaching out to people
*having a voice
*asking questions
*getting in touch with them via my interests
*and showing them a part of myself
My blogging account is
here
and the best blogs are as follows...
* I-am-going-to-be-doom-doom-doom-deep = which is where i reach out to people by being rather worked up about - you may not want to read it but it reveals a part of myself , which i think is very important

* potc-third this is a post where i believe i had a voice that wasn't so much emotional rather a voice that had an opinion on something that I believed people would respond to as i invited people to reply to it

* wanties*givsies is a blog where i thought i may also get a reply from my visitors as it really wasn't such a complicated question - and it offered them a chance for them to show me themselves so that i could get to know my audience.

*in both blogs you can see different ways that i tried to express my individuality and my love of certain shows here and here

*in this blog i wanted to also give my readers an opportunity to actually see more of myself - in a visual sense in the blog flickr-goodness or in this blog

Considering the blog account - i found it difficult to edit the font and colours in the later blogs due to the mac that i own as when i try and produce a blog it doesn't offer the option of font or colour - so i did try and do that using html - but have found this quite difficult. And I found making links for all blogs difficult - especially the last one about the visitors - I wasn't quite sure to link it to! It was the only one i didn't put a link on - and it is here

With my flickr account (found here) i tried to really use this site as much as possible - I actually really loved looking at other users images and when we looked for screenshots of various layouts - i found heaps trhat i really thought were interesting which can be seen at my homepage.

concerning tags - i tried to use a variety of things just in case - something that i have can be easily found. I also used tags that wold relate to the subject. my tags can be found here I used things like mpi104-2007, mpi104, mpi,or propaganda, nazi, nazis or even cardcaptor, card nd captor. I found that this system of having combinations of words that relate to the subject helpful - especially during searches.

I tried being involved in groups by becoming a member and and favourit-ing images and submitting various images to the mpi104-2007 network. My faves are found here. A lot of the photos that I have been looking at, on flickr.com, are to do with Japanese "cosplaying" in Tokyo, Make-up, Clothing, fashion photography and costume like fashion. The reason for this is because I really love how bright the colours are. Some of these images are faves because of the subject and of how the image was taken. I really love Japan, anime and things that are very visual - aka colourful or aesthetically pleasing.

DEL.ICIO.US was a really interesting account to have had during this year as it gave me another place to go searching information. I really found it interesting - in terms of what i found. I made 42 favourites and I have many subscriptions or a decent sized networking system . Some of things that I have favourited are to do with Nazi propaganda, scrubs, colour designs and tutorials for say photoshop or flash.

With del.icio.us. I found it a useful resource as it helped me very much so with my grp103 assignment on Nazi propaganda and bundled my tags in order to keep track of all my sites that I have made.

My technorati account is here and this site I found a little useless – I didn’t really see much point in using it – but it was interesting that this kind of site is interesting enough. I suppose once I get used to using it or just take time with the site – to get to know it and understand how to really use it – then and only then will I be able to take full advantage of its resources.

_______________

All in all the whole project I think was very helpful as it has opened up my eyes to new things. Before I started this course I had never heard of technorati, flickr or del.icio.us and I am really greatful to have been shown how to use flickr and del.icio.us in particular.

ABOUT ME –xtnd’d

*Crackling of a radio broadcast is heard*

Radio broadcaster: And we are back with Bonnie. She is a student from CSU, studying Graphic Design and with a minor in television and theatre design. Thank you for joining us this evening.
Bonnie : Thank you, Bob.
Radio broadcaster: Tell us how you ended up here, 19 year old and already a minor in TV and theatre design…
Bonnie: Well Design for theatre and television was my first choice. I did it because I love costuming and drawing and purely based on the fact I enjoyed doing my drama major work, I worked on the “Twelfth Night”. But I realised that my needs were not being met and I felt as if I had wasted a year – during my spare time, which there was quite a bit of, I would just drawn and fiddle with photoshop, and those elements my course didn’t ever seem to touch on – I felt really let down, so I changed degrees.
Radio broadcaster: How are you finding the course in comparison and staying at the same University?
Bonnie: I am really enjoying it so far, it’s great. The amount of work and the projects we get to do – makes me feel a lot more, -um, I feel like I am learning more and that I am getting challenged, unlike last year. It was as if someone told me I was to be a kitchen hand and was never allowed to see the food the chef made of something. I feel quite bitter towards the course I was doing, but I decided to stay here, as I grew to really love the area and the people here I felt I had made the right decision according to what interested me.

*To be continued*

Just something i wanted to add - cause i can

For the love of ...

I have had the priviledge of having a mac laptop this term – It has been a testing experience, I must say.
I got it the day before I left for wagga and I had to transfer ALL my files from my previous laptop (my dad now owns) and depart from my much cherished belonging!!!

I hate the mouse pad on this machine and I hate the keys and having no “page up” and “page down” keys…and…no TRUE delete key or an “insert” key (shift insert wasmy best friend)…lets also not forget to mention how easily the whole “interface”, body of the machine gets dirty…one night I sat there with a rubber rubbing off the dirt – so disturbing!!!!

What I love though is the wallpaper manipulations – where you can just make a mini slideshow as your wallpaper, I love how compact it looks, I love the box it came in – that’s how beautiful and well designed this machine is. I also love, LOVE the “iCal” programme, helps me stay on top of things – along with “iStickies” which are like little post it notes!

If you handed me both machine and said “pick one” – I do not know what I would chose. It may just be the Mac as it is such a new and exciting experience for me to try something new…but that being said I miss the games on PC!!!!

Envy

So – slippers, huh? How about them – I LOVE slippers…these days as soon as I get home from anywhere I just go and put slippers on!

Doesn’t get more exciting than that, does it folks?

I AM GOING TO BE *doom-doom-doom* DEEP and MEANINGFUL

Do you remember when i told you I wnated to give my bro a hug and maybe call him to say the typical corny phrase of "I love you"? Well I'm glad i didn't!

He is now home - after five years of being away. He left when i was in year 9 and that was 2002 around April. I then Saw him in year 11 around june/july for a max of three days...and since that time he has been with multiple girls...but since my last visit he has gained a woman friend who he is "engaged" to (not sure if thats still going on?) and some child which IS NOT HIS...he is in denial you see - so i thought i'd re-itterate that incase he catches my scent on the net and tracks me down!

But anyway - when i heard he was coming back - according to many past conversations i really did want - but when i heard it was official (it happened suddenly you see - it was all decided with 5 days) i was not overly excited at all. Since he left so much has changed - my family (it was only mum, dad and myself here) we all evolved, changed, developed...grew into different people in my opinion...and in his defence, james did as well.

But I did not wnat him to feel like when he came home it would be all cupcakes and smarties with ballons...it was going to be new and different - or one thing my dad has retired and my mum is a lot more involved with household maintence and has really taken advantage of her artistic abiliies - not to mention more sociable.

What happened though - was he has changed - he smokes and he drinks a shameful amount in MY OPINION...and i feel he doesn't take enough, for want of a better word, advantage...of my parents time. I wnat him to spend time with them, eat at the table and choose to take a part of their life as they have always tried to be apart of his!

I just feel he uses them and expects them to pay for him all the time, to save his ass and just be what "stereotypical" parents do NAG. My parenst are not like that if you do what is expected of you, grow into a responsible being and respect them - then i think it works out. Parents are not around for ever and so you must try and learn as much as you can i suppose - I really would like too.

James on the other hand - he has never been one to sit at a table for a family dinner and says things are borring - eg. one trip we went to the rainforest and we'd say "lets go down here..." or " do you wnat to drive there" and he'd say "why...its just trees...oh look a tree, a tree and another tree!~" he'd always...ALWAYS sit in the car and just "chill" to music. And he hasn't grown out of that...which is sad!

The thing that bit the bullet though was this...
about a week ago i said hello to him and he was downloading trailers and what not from youtube.com and i said the following:
why don't you hang out with mum and dad
"why"
they are your family
"i miss my family"
mum and dad are your family
"not my reeeal family"
yes they are
"no they are not - mine are in england"
no - mum and dad are your real family...
"uh no they're in england so and so are my family now"
"so and so isn't even your son"

and he hung up - i havent spoken to him since.

I am quite upset with the fact he hasn't gotten over it yet - and that he isn't mature enough to forgive me.

If he can't understand why i was so offended that i needed to voice my opinion with his relationship with the "so and so" people then i guess i don't believe i should appoligise!!!

suck on those potatoes!!!!

SORRY DAD IF YOU DO READ THIS i will delete it soon

me being all emo - i appoligise check the definition

SNIFFING GOOD

So my best friend is from Korea - she went back there during the end of the last holidays...

And on her return I recieved MUCH WANTED STATIONARY - i love stationary - i love stickers, pens, texters, highlighters, rubbers, nifty rulers, pencils - you name it - i enjoy it!

ANYWAY she came back with a huge load of stuff - i got a hamburger cd case, highlighters that smell awesome, stickers in the shape of paddle-pos and lollies, i got rubbers, coloured biros and i got tiny texters....

the story is...I was doing some note-making and using a yummy smelly highlighter - and it was green and smelt like the forest in springtime...*shrugs* ANYWAY i thought i'd smell the other highlights...PINK/BLUE/YELLOW/PURPLE...which smelt great-

and then i thought "What about the textas/texters...i wonder if they smell nice"

So i picked up the box they were in, in the shape of a suitcase....And i went through and started to smell them - i got to the green one and OH MY...HOLY COW FACE!!!! IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD - it was the most disgusting-est thing EVER...it was like someone had found out how to cature the essence of rotting man foot and shoved it into the green ink...the case itself does not smell what so ever...but this particular pen...UGH.

And it was so eventful and exciting i thought i'd write a blog about it!

What was the smelliest thing that you have ever smelt?

ASSESSMENTS and EXAMS

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i hate this time...the assessment period!!!!

Its so frustrating when you are running behind...I have been so tired lately and a bit sick...and i just found out i am moving...not too mention emotional changes - MY BROTHER IS HOME....ALL COMES RUSHING at me like a tsunami...or getting generally dunked by a wave...

The things that are due and that i am really stressing about is my GRP103 assignment, my photography assignment and my exam for com...and then this MPI104...

I am freaking out...

i guess the best way to deal with it is in small goals! Like if i read a chapter in my com text or two a day...and then do 3 hours of work on my MPI104 and GRP assignment each day as well...and FIGURE OUT how to attack my photography assignment - I have trouble asking lecturers though - especially since its coming up to the dead line. I shouldn't be afraid, I know that, but its bad enough knowing what situation I have put myself in - i don't wnat it to be rubbed in!...I guess i just need to bite the bullet and ask for help...

If anyone has done the photography assignment and could give me a pointer that would be great help...i am so lost!

Portraits are far from truth

So I was involved in a photoshoot not too long ago...I was part of a portrait assignment in which the photographer needed to take a photo of me that represents who i am meant to be...and i assumed that menat - get me wearing my vans, black jeans and my ghostbuster tshirt that my bro - who is now 26...wore when he was like 12?...so ist old skool and ha sthe bright green fat ghost on it!...and maybe wear a chain or something...?

but no - she wanted me to have my hair all up (i was cool with this) and had a feather in it and wore this weird white dress - and i held a fan and wore a silver and black thing chain...

What i didn't understand was why wouldn't you take a photo of me - if that is your assessment requirements!...But I guess they figured it was a bit different shoving a fetaher in my hair...*shrugs* I did enjoy it...maybe it was cause they wanted to avoid a "typixal" photo of a emo person? like with the jeans...big glasses...a balloon perhaps??? *shrugs*

But once i get photos i will post them up...on my flickr account...

In conclusion though - how often do you think porttraits of people are real....that really convey the person?

I always think the best ones are when the subject in question is crying or laughing, as long as it is legitimate...then and only then i believe is when true emotion and the persons personality captured...

quite a nice photography sitesee it here

POTC the THIRD

So lets see...a few weeks ago when the Pirates film came out - I was one of those who chose to believe this film may triumph over the 2nd film. Aything is better than the 2nd film. So i guess in saying that you'd have to believe that the 3rd in the trilogy (as stands) should be better than the 2nd flm.

Kiera Knightley's lips appear even bigger - and she seems to have a natural talent with swords and guns! Orlando Blooms character is not as frustrating in this film - although - the costume designer seems to think once you become a freaking pirate you have to wear a bandana...LAME!!!! And Johnny Depp is rather wonderful particularly if you have a fetish for hairy, arty type men with lots of belts and a wonderful compass!!!!

Things i did enjoy in the film is the ending...that sounds rather like i wanted to leave after the three hour screening...but no, i loved how everything was tied back to the beginning! I enjoyed the makeup, a lot of the costume and the sets were very attractive - so lots of thumbs up to the art department...I enjoyed the Jamaican woman and howthe beginnin she connects to Davey and i loved seeing the human version of Davey - but please i do not want to hear another person say to me "omg that guy was in Love Actually" because blah - i have no reason - just its so obvious!!!!

Things i did not enjoy - the beginning, I just got so muddled - and that is partly cause i was exhausted when i was watching it and i was so close to the screen...i didn't like Kiera not aging at all at the very end, i didn't like the lines about johnny's family - i thought it was obvious and not necessary - like if you had no idea about the "relation" then tough - you're not in the know and shouldn't diserve to know that cute little fact!!!! (in my opinion).

What else i don't mind the CG - some people get flustered with the use of it - especially if it's used toooooo much!!! But you know what - if you are watching a fantastical kind of film like Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, Batman, Hellboy...etc YOU HAVE TO EXPECT THE USE OF COMPUTERS!!!!!!!

But partly for the crazy jokes, Johnny's personality split (if i can call it that without giving away too much), the artistry and the summing up "The Curse of the Black Pearl" and "Dead Mans Chest" - oh and for those who love kiera (aka NOT ME) or Johnny will like this film pretty much....

all in all - just go see it! If i haven't convinced you...or said something you do not agree with or ould like to add too...feel free to comment - i am interested in what you think about the film!!!
