Portraits are far from truth
So I was involved in a photoshoot not too long ago...I was part of a portrait assignment in which the photographer needed to take a photo of me that represents who i am meant to be...and i assumed that menat - get me wearing my vans, black jeans and my ghostbuster tshirt that my bro - who is now 26...wore when he was like 12?...so ist old skool and ha sthe bright green fat ghost on it!...and maybe wear a chain or something...?
but no - she wanted me to have my hair all up (i was cool with this) and had a feather in it and wore this weird white dress - and i held a fan and wore a silver and black thing chain...
What i didn't understand was why wouldn't you take a photo of me - if that is your assessment requirements!...But I guess they figured it was a bit different shoving a fetaher in my hair...*shrugs* I did enjoy it...maybe it was cause they wanted to avoid a "typixal" photo of a emo person? like with the jeans...big glasses...a balloon perhaps??? *shrugs*
But once i get photos i will post them up...on my flickr account...
In conclusion though - how often do you think porttraits of people are real....that really convey the person?
I always think the best ones are when the subject in question is crying or laughing, as long as it is legitimate...then and only then i believe is when true emotion and the persons personality captured...
quite a nice photography sitesee it here
