Assessment 1

Well its the end of my first assessment, I have rather enjoyed the experience.

I think I have satisfied almost everything on the list. I do know that I haven't done some tasks such as saving the links for others - on flickr.com, Del.icio.us.com and I also did not do the technorati as listed on the blogger marking criteria - but I did do the RSS feed that is in the "about me column" on my blog - that was very hard to find - for a little, middle-class, white person.

On my Flickr.com account I really enjoyed looking at other users photos.
Some tags that I have used are - just in case I have writen the incorrect code or just because some one else may have. I have used mpi104 and mpi1042007, nazi, nazism and nazis, cardcaptor, card and captor just to name a few. Variations of the word, if you will!

I Tried uploading some of my own pictures and photos, joining other groups and I believe I commented on other peoples images. But it may have been only one person...possibly a lion king image?

A lot of the photos that I have been looking at, on flickr.com, are to do with Japanese "cosplaying" in Tokyo, Make-up, Clothing, fashion photography and costume like fashion. The reason for this is because I really love how bright the colours are in some of the images I have found.

I love the sense of style that is expressed by some of these people, say from Tokyo; Tokyo is a place I have always wanted to visit - being a Japanese animation fan. So really I have made those particular images my favourites because I either envy what the person wears, has done their make up, aesthetic look to their hair even - makes my visual senses in my brain bubble - or s p a r k (or some other sort of adjective that sounds exciting!!!!)

Del.icio.us was a very interesting site to get my head around. I tried saving bookmarks to some of my favourite things, such as Sailor Moon and Scrubs. I did save websites that were very useful to some of my other assignments (under "class" bundle) such as Nazi Germany's propaganda - for COM226. I also tried to bundle all my tags into organised folders and join a few networks.

I believe I have around 38 favoured websites so far. And I believe Four subscriptions as we speak. India, "Emo" culture, clothing stores, Nazi Propaganda, T-shirt design sites, photoshop tutorials, postcard designs Disney, sailor moon and scrubs were a few of the things I have been saving in my journeys on Del.icio.us.com

I have found it to be such a useful website, as I have found a new place to look up information, photos to draw, tutorials, brushes and clothing - rather than just using google.com.au .

And finally there is BLOGGER.COM. My siteI have posted 13 blogs on blogger or 17 - my login in page says 17 and the main site says 13 - so I do not know who to believe there! It has been some what of a hurdle, realising that i need to keep posting and trying to be creative and interesting with my posts.

With my blog posts - I have attempted to make them all look different from each other by changing the fonts, the colours, the size of texts and I have changed my layout three times since I started running the account for MPI104. But one of the most important things I tried to accomplish, whether or not people commented on my blogs, was that I wanted to involve people. I tried to capture their attention with large, bold headings (LINK), I asked questions to try and create a response from someone (LINK) and i attempted to connect with my audience by posting topics about late night tv, scrubs
and Sailor Moon
I even tried to capture their attention by talking about assignments and India! I mean if i could have had just 2 comments I would be happy - but I only got one from my dad. I did leave one in particular to Alex and i discussed my hatred for Pirates of the Carribean 2 - if you would scroll down in that particular post...(link)

In CONCLUSION I felt tested by this assignment - tryiong to figure out all the tags, bundles, html codes and trying to make it part of routine - that I would go and visit blogger, flickr and delicious. Thank you for introducing these tools to me (and no - I wont bring a gun to class *taps nose in Jo's direction*)
